We form Life Story groups twice a year that will meet as many times as there are people in the group (usually 3-4) for about 2 hours at a time. We will form groups in the chapel after the service on 1/26. If you can't come in-person on the 26th and want to participate, please complete this form by 2/2. For more information about how exactly LSGs work, please watch this video → Sign Up Life Story Group Expectations/Recommendations Confidentiality. We agree not to share even bits and pieces of others’ stories with people who are not in the group. Even without names. Even without identifying details. Even with our intimate partners. That’s how hurtful gossip can happen. Non-judgement. This is trickier because we’re talking about what happens in your heart. One way to avoid the appearance of judgment is to avoid asking questions or making comments. Just listen through to the end then thank the speaker for their story. But you’re not on your own with any feelings and thoughts that might come up after listening! The skill of being a member of a community requires practice and support. Always know you can reach out to our minister or a […]

Join us monthly for practice, supportive conversation, and teaching meant for anyone interested in starting, deepening, or maintaining a regular meditation practice. If have been meditating daily for years and would like the support of others on a similar journey please consider attending. Also, perhaps you have always wanted to be able to meditate consistently but have run into barriers with starting or maintaining a consistent practice. All are welcome as we connect around deepening our practice of centering prayer and other forms of siting meditation. Childcare provided.

Gather on Zoom as we dive into the book Your Brain on Art by Ivy Ross and Susan Magsamen. Engaging in the Arts is vital to our well-being! The arts in its countless forms can quite literally rewire your brain. The more we participate in arts and aesthetics the healthier and happier we become. Your Brain on Art reveals how immersing ourselves in art can improve our physical and mental health, help us learn and flourish and build stronger communities. The arts can deliver accessible and proven solutions for the well-being of everyone. This book offers compelling research that shows how engaging in an art project — from painting and dancing to expressive writing, architecture and more — for as little as forty-five minutes reduces the stress hormone cortisol, no matter your skill level, and just one art experience per month can extend your life by ten years. A review from the book's website: "The neuroscience of beauty, of witnessing or creating music, art, dance is an untapped doorway to healing the brain, to changing the very structure and function of our brains and minds. Your Brain on Art, explores the new science of neuroaesthetics, a way of reimagining how to live that […]
