When we observe ourselves feeling and reacting from unsettling emotions like anger, sadness, and fear, the self awareness practice helps us investigate so we can release stories and patterns that no longer serve our wellbeing and so we can embrace ourselves and others with more compassion and grace. If you want to learn more about the self awareness practice, please drop in and observe 2 members of the Common Thread Community do this practice together. No prior knowledge or experience is required and everyone is invited and welcome. We will meet in Room 209. Feel free to bring your lunch/snack if desired. Bunco is a fun, social dice game that is easy to learn and so much fun to play. We need 12-20 players. All adults are welcome. Newcomers’ Hybrid Chat with Doug

Join Doug (in person and online) as he delves into "What are you thinking?" in regards to Common Thread Church. Get to know other newcomers and ask any burning questions you may have! Mardi Gras Brunch

Come kick off the Lenten season with a Mardi Gras brunch in the Chapel. The church will provide king cakes, quiches, and coffee/tea. After registering, you will be prompted to sign up to bring something (juices, baked goods, or fruit) if you can. Looking forward to celebrating together! Ordination Ceremony

Heather and Sue have come to the end of their year of ministerial discernment. It’s time for them to make their pledges to serve our community and the world in love, and for us to anoint and commission them as fully ordained ministers in the church. This will take place after our Mardi Gras celebration on February 11. Come be a part of this important event celebrating the life of our community and looking toward our future.

Life Story Group Formation

We form Life Story groups that will meet as many times as there are people in the group (usually 3-4) for about 2 hours at a time. For Our Remote Community If you are a remote member or would simply prefer to meet remotely for a Life Story group, please use this form to note your preferences by 2/12 @ 6:00 p.m. Scott Shackleton will be in touch after the deadline with information about your group. Even without names. Even without identifying details. Even with our intimate partners. That’s how hurtful gossip can happen. Non-judgement. This is trickier because we’re talking about what happens in your heart. One way to avoid the appearance of judgment is to avoid asking questions or making comments.
