Like to bake? Like to eat cookies or give some away to neighbors and friends? Take part in our first CTC Cookie Swap! Bring a few dozen of one type of cookie and go home with a variety! Kate has been hosting this event in her neighborhood for years and wants to bring the tradition to Common Thread this Christmas. In addition to the cookie swap, we will be collecting diapers for The Diaper Train of Raleigh. Any and all diapers (even opened packages) and wipes are welcome. Learn more here about how this wonderful organization supports families in Wake County --> Details for the cookie swap: Register here by December 14th. Kate will send an email out on December 15th with the number of friends participating. Bake 2 cookies per person. Package them in Ziplocs or any other wraps you'd like. Bring your packaged cookies in a large container labeled with your name and the cookie type. Drop the cookies off in the Fellowship Hall before church starts on Sunday, 12/17. When we observe ourselves feeling and reacting from unsettling emotions like anger, sadness, and fear, the self awareness practice helps us investigate so we can release stories and patterns that no longer serve our wellbeing and so we can embrace ourselves and others with more compassion and grace. If you want to learn more about the self awareness practice, please drop in and observe 2 members of the Common Thread Community do this practice together. No prior knowledge or experience is required and everyone is invited and welcome. We will meet in Room 209. Feel free to bring your lunch/snack if desired. Bunco is a fun, social dice game that is easy to learn and so much fun to play. We need 12-20 players. All adults are welcome. Here’s what you need to bring to play: $5 ante (goes toward cash prizes at the end) $5 wrapped gift called a "baby" (candle, chocolate, lotion, tea, gift card, etc.) Appetizer or dessert to share Wine/beer or soda to share Hope to see you there! Newcomers’ Hybrid Chat with Doug

Join Doug (in person and online) as he delves into "What are you thinking?" in regards to Common Thread Church. Get to know other newcomers and ask any burning questions you may have! The registration confirmation email will contain the Zoom link and password if you plan to attend online. In-person attendees will go to the meeting room off of the main hallway (room 205). Mardi Gras Brunch

Come kick off the Lenten season with a Mardi Gras brunch in the Chapel. The church will provide king cakes, quiches, and coffee/tea. After registering, you will be prompted to sign up to bring something (juices, baked goods, or fruit) if you can. Looking forward to celebrating together!
