This Christmas we are collecting items to put together Blessing Bags for the unhoused in our city. Please donate what you can from the items below. There is a collection bin in the chapel lobby. You can also give monetary donations here. (Select "In It Together" from the dropdown menu.) The children will put together the bags during church and they will be distributed to everyone during our Christmas Eve service to later distribute to someone in need. Items Needed: Warm socks (unisex) Pads/tampons Hand/body wipes Toothbrush/toothpaste Nail clippers Kleenex Chapstick Hand warmers Gloves Beanies/hats Mini first aid kits Deodorant Combs Peanut butter crackers Granola/cereal bars Nuts, beef jerky, or other protein snacks Applesauce squeezes Mini water bottles Gallon-sized Ziploc bags (for packing the items) Gift cards for fast food **Monetary donations (contact Preston)**

Rise Against Hunger

In the Chapel

This is a joint event with Ridge Road. We need 40 volunteers on 2/23 to pack meals for the non-profit Rise Against Hunger. This is a kid-friendly event. Help transform the chapel into a packaging space to put together hundreds of meal kits for those in need. Earth Day Greenway Clean-Up

Details Join us for a meaningful day of service and connection as we clean up litter along the Raleigh Greenway in honor of Earth Day! We’ll start at Worthdale Park and enjoy a beautiful walk while giving back to our community. What to Bring: Old clothes and shoes (plus a change for the car) Bug spray & sunscreen Gloves and grabbers (if you have them) Bags will be provided. Volunteer at the Food Bank

Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina

Volunteers (age 5+) will be providing assistance in various activities. A great event to help our community while getting to know some friends from Common Thread and The Ridge. This is a special opportunity open to children 5+ (normally only 12+ may volunteer). Closed-toed shoes required. How to Register 1. Register with Common Thread 2. Donate clothing during June/July. There will be a bin in the lobby for three Sundays (6/22, 6/29, 7/6) where we will collect the following items: Women’s Clothing (all sizes) Men’s Clothing (all sizes) Girl’s Clothing (all sizes) Boy’s Clothing (all sizes) Baby & Toddler Clothing (all sizes) Shoes (all sizes & types) New & Unused Socks and Underwear (all sizes)
