We meet the third Sunday of every month. For one hour, we will gather and talk about how our awareness of our type has grown and how we have been able to make different decisions as a result of our pausing.

Join us for a film screening of 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, a feature documentary about the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians due to a grave mistranslation of the Bible in 1946. Website description of the film: It chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University which unveil astonishing new revelations, and casts significant doubt on any biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors, including the personal stories of the film’s creators, 1946 is at once challenging, enlightening, and inspiring. While others have been successful in their attempt to treat the symptom of homophobia in the church, 1946 is working to diagnose and treat the disease - Biblical Literalism. The doors open at 4:30 p.m. Following this 90-minute film, we’ll meet at Lynnwood Brewing Concern for a meal and group discussion. Register

With the election season upon us, it’s a good time to be learning some new skills to help you survive the times. Depolarizing Within teaches participants to look within and develop strategies for engaging in politics without demonizing, and how to constructively intervene in social conversations with like-minded peers. Participants will learn: How to be more aware of their own “inner polarizer” How to be critical without demonizing, dismissing or stereotyping large swaths of the population Strategies for intervening constructively in social conversations with like-minded peers when these conversations veer into contempt and ridicule for people who hold other political views Questions?
