    Drop-In Self-Awareness

    When we observe ourselves feeling and reacting from unsettling emotions like anger, sadness, and fear, the self awareness practice helps us investigate so we can release stories and patterns that no longer serve our wellbeing and so we can embrace ourselves and others with more compassion and grace. If you want to learn more about the self awareness practice, please drop in and observe 2 members of the Common Thread Community do this practice together. No prior knowledge or experience is required and everyone is invited and welcome. We will meet in Room 209. Feel free to bring your lunch/snack if desired.   • ONE Wake September Action for Affordable Housing

    Catholic Community of Saint Francis of Assisi

    ONE Wake's Homeownership to Equity Campaign takes a step forward in this assembly as we feature future homeowners and residents seeking their place among us as our neighbors. Join us as we hear their stories; listen as we present solutions to elected officials from Raleigh and throughout Wake County. We cannot continue to operate in the same systems, hoping that developers will care enough to save a small portion of property for those who want to live and work here. Housing at all affordability levels is an investment in a thriving civil society. People are not thriving when they are spending more than 30% of their wages on housing, and that number is above 1/4 of all households in Wake County - it is not going down. Every institution is expected to turn out in strength. Our goal is to match—and exceed—the energy and turnout of last July’s action. RSVP on ONE Wake site here

    The Meditation Room downstairs is open each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for anyone who would like a quiet place to find peace and grounding before the service begins. When a leader is available, we’ll hold twenty minutes of Centering Prayer beginning at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

  • On-Campus Contemplative / Enneagram Retreat

    Common Thread Church Campus

    Come join us for a contemplative retreat with a specific focus on the Enneagram at Common Thread!  We will be engaging with practices that are designed to get us in touch with our bodies and a sense of stillness as we also dig deeper into the Enneagram. (If you are new to the enneagram, this will be an excellent introduction!) Our retreat will include: Communal rituals and meditations Music and chants Sacred Dance Nervous system regulation exercises Enneagram 101 and deeper discussions Coffee and snacks when you arrive A full lunch Childcare A detailed agenda will be emailed to folks who register the week prior to the event. Feel free to attend the entire event or just the parts that particularly interest you. Need childcare? Just let us know when you register. It will be available from 9-3. Children may also participate in the large group activities as well. There will be no registration fees for this event because we want this event to be accessible to everyone in our community.
