The way most Western Christians have the story of salvation since the Enlightenment (the 11th century, really), has some unintended and negative consequences. As we saw at the beginning of this lesson, when we take our Christian doctrine of ineffability seriously, we realize that all our doctrines are stories, narratives we tell that cannot fully contain Divine Reality.
So, from time to time we have to rethink our story.
Today we talk about some of the unintended, and negative implications of telling our salvation story the way we have these last several centuries.
