May 2025 Financial Report
I want to bring you a quick and transparent update on our community finances. In May, our regular giving totaled $15,572.27, while our expenses were $19,578.65, which means we spent $4,006.38 more than our regular giving.
The good news? One of our members made a truly generous $6,000 gift, which meant that overall we finished May $1,993.62 above expenses. We are so grateful.

This has been the pattern most of this year—our monthly giving is averaging just under $15,000, which is about 75% of what it takes to run our community. Thanks to roughly $30,000 in one-time and corporate gifts so far this year, we’ve been able to protect our savings and keep a small margin in our operating funds. That is a gift in itself, and a sign of people’s deep commitment to this place.
Still, we all know that one-time gifts can’t sustain us in the long term. Now that we have transparent financials available (if you haven’t seen them yet, take a look here), I think it’s reasonable to invite all of us to help close that gap together.
Because we are not in a financial emergency, we can take our time and build sustainability gradually. So here are two invitations:
1. If you can increase your giving by 10% this month, would you consider it?
That would help us begin moving toward closing the roughly 33% gap between our current giving and what we actually need to operate sustainably. If that’s not possible for you right now, please know how grateful we are for every way you share yourself with this community—others may be able to give more than 10%, and together we’ll find our balance.

2. If you’re new here and haven’t yet started giving, would you consider stepping in this month?
The average household giving is about $200 per month, though that varies widely depending on each person’s resources and discernment. We are grateful for every contribution and for the many ways you help sustain a healthy, transforming spiritual community.

So here’s the plan: taking $15,000 as our monthly giving average, our goal is to increase it to $16,500 for July. We will keep working in roughly 10% steps until we reach $20,000 per month—if we are successful, we should be there by autumn. That will put us in a strong position to address some priorities our community has named, including expanding resources for our youth program.
We’ll keep you posted on the third Thursday of each month about where we stand and how close we are to our goal.
And friends, we are in this together. We are building something beautiful and durable, and it takes all of us—hearts, hands, and yes, dollars—to keep it growing. Thank you for sharing in the ownership of this vision.
With gratitude and love,
Sue
