Volunteering

Please join us this Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. to spread mulch, plant & relocate plants, hedge trim, and general grounds spruce up. Not necessary but bring them if you have them: garden gloves, rake, hedge trimmers, pitch fork.

After the service on 12/1, a rep from Welcome House Raleigh will talk about their mission and opportunities for us to do more work with this great organization. Join us in Room 205.

Donate clothing during June/July. There will be a bin in the lobby for three Sundays (6/22, 6/29, 7/6) where we will collect the following items: Women’s Clothing (all sizes) Men’s Clothing (all sizes) Girl’s Clothing (all sizes) Boy’s Clothing (all sizes) Baby & Toddler Clothing (all sizes) Shoes (all sizes & types) New & Unused Socks and Underwear (all sizes)

Join us as Common Thread Church partners with HOPE Ministries and Garner United Methodist to bless our unhoused neighbors in the Raleigh/Garner area in a day of service that is "here.now.small.doable."   Clothing Collection (9/13-9/28): We are collecting men’s pants, jeans, belts, shirts, socks & underwear to bless our guests. Please bring donations to church in the weeks leading up to the event.   Event Day We’ll be serving breakfast, offering showers, and distributing clothing to those in need. Common Thread’s Role: Cooking and serving hot grits with toppings & assisting with shower stations. Garner UMC’s Role: Serving bagels with cream cheese, assisting with showers, and distributing clothing.   Ways You Can Help: Volunteer – Come on the day of the event to help cook and serve grits, assist with shower coordination, and offer hospitality. Donate + Volunteer – Contribute toward food supplies and serve on the day of the event. Donate food in the CTC church lobby from 11/16 to 12/14. With recent reductions in federal support, many local organizations are finding it harder to keep their shelves stocked for families who depend on them. Please donate food or money if you can. Food needs: Rice Pasta Canned Tuna/Chicken Cereal Snacks (Individually Wrapped) Canned Soup Canned Fruit Canned Tomatoes Canned Beans Canned Green Beans Canned Corn Quick Rolled Oats Peanut Butter   Donate Money to Urban Ministries

This Christmas we are collecting items to put together Blessing Bags for the unhoused in our city. Please donate what you can from the items below. There is a collection bin in the chapel lobby. You can also give monetary donations here. (Select "In It Together" from the dropdown menu.) The teens will put together the bags during church and they will be distributed to everyone during our Christmas Eve service to later distribute to someone in need.   Items Needed: Warm socks (unisex) Pads/tampons Hand/body wipes Toothbrush/toothpaste Nail clippers Kleenex Chapstick Hand warmers Gloves Beanies/hats Mini first aid kits Deodorant Combs/picks Peanut butter crackers Granola/cereal bars Nuts, beef jerky, or other protein snacks Applesauce squeezes Mini water bottles 2.5 gallon sized Ziploc bags (for packing the items) Gift cards for fast food
