I hear people in their pessimistic moments say things like…
“People don’t ever really change. They just don’t!”
When you’ve been hurt by the same person, doing the same stupid thing, and doing it for the umpteenth time, I can understand the pessimism. However, people engaged in the ancient rhythm of growth and change — would beg to differ. Change is actually pretty normal. It’s as normal as trees growing. Put the right elements in place (sun, soil, water), and if change doesn’t happen, something very surprising has happened.
The same is true of our own growth and change. Put the right elements in place, and if it doesn’t happen, that’s just weird!
