SUMMARY:ONE Wake Internal Assembly
DESCRIPTION:This assembly will be an internal gathering of the Countywide Leaders Caucus\, composed of Core Teams from all ONE Wake member institutions and institutions discerning membership (guests are welcome\, but no candidates or media please). \nThe purpose of the assembly is to prepare for our fall action agenda\, which includes TWO major\, non-partisan candidate assemblies. \nThe first assembly will be held with candidates for Raleigh City Council and Wake Commissioners on October 10\, 7:00 pm at Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The turnout goal is 1\,000 people. \nThe second assembly will be held on October 20\, 3:30 – 5:30 pm\, with candidates for Governor\, Attorney General\, and Superintendent of Public Instruction\, in collaboration with ONE Wake’s sister organizations in North Carolina\, through NC United Power for Action\, our shared statewide network. ONE Wake’s  turnout goal for this assembly is 400 – 600 people. More information and registration available soon. \nAlso up for discussion is the $30 million Cary affordable housing bond referendum\, the Town’s first affordable housing bond which will be on the ballot for Cary voters this fall. \nAll participating institutions are asked to send a robust team of 10-15 people to help us launch our ambitious action agenda this fall. \nPlease register on their website to let them know CTC members will be in attendance (put Common Thread next to your name when registering) →

SUMMARY:ONE Wake Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please sign up for ONE Wake’s Annual Meeting on March 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church in Raleigh. There will be a virtual option but in-person attendance is encouraged. \nONE Wake has the opportunity to take action to win on our diverse set of grassroots priorities\, including: \n– Winning fair treatment and compensation for the 700 low income adults and children living at the Chatham Estates mobile home park in Cary who are at risk of losing millions to relocation costs and lost equity due to the pending sale and redevelopment of their community; \n– Continuation and expansion of the popular SmartRide microtransit program in Zebulon and Eastern Wake County that in FY 23 supported over 13\,000 rides that connected low income residents without cars to grocery stores\, medical appointments\, and social services; \n– NEW local issue campaigns to address our priorities around mental health\, rising utility rates\, and permanent White Flag facilities for people experiencing homelessness. \nJoin us to ratify a series of actions in the spring and fall that will allow ONE Wake to make change on these important issues. Our goal is to have large groups (at least 10-15 people) from each of our institutions so we can kick off 2024 with POWER! \nDuring our meeting we will also ratify a 2024 budget and a new Strategy Team slate. \nRegister
