DESCRIPTION:We form Life Story groups that will meet as many times as there are people in the group (usually 3-4) for about 2 hours at a time. \nFor Our Remote Community\nIf you are a remote member or would simply prefer to meet remotely for a Life Story group\, please use this form to note your preferences by 2/12 @ 6:00 p.m. Scott Shackleton will be in touch after the deadline with information about your group. \nRemote LSG Sign Up \n  \nLife Story Group Expectations/Recommendations\nConfidentiality. We agree not to share even bits and pieces of others’ stories with people who are not in the group. Even without names. Even without identifying details. Even with our intimate partners. That’s how hurtful gossip can happen. \nNon-judgement. This is trickier because we’re talking about what happens in your heart. One way to avoid the appearance of judgment is to avoid asking questions or making comments. Just listen through to the end then thank the speaker for their story. But you’re not on your own with any feelings and thoughts that might come up after listening! The skill of being a member of a community requires practice and support. Always know you can reach out to our minister or a member of the pastoral team if you need help. \n5-minute Meditation. Starting every LSG with a five minute meditation reminds us that though this is a ‘communal’ activity\, it’s not just a social activity: the spiritual journey benefits from spiritual friends\, and that’s what we are here together to make. \nWorking the Circle. Serving/Learning/Contemplative/Communal.
